Naturpark Pfyn-Finges - Cultural village of Albinen - Fire area and WSL research - Brentjong field flora

After a short visit to the "larch village" Albinen, the descent into the burn area begins. Take careful note of your surroundings, because after about 1.5 km they change abruptly...
The fire area: Fire - an engine for biodiversity. Immerse yourself in the "new" landscape and experience a fascinating floral splendour amidst the whimsical dead trees. At the Brentjong satellite station you can discover rare species of arable flora in the show field. End the hike in the medieval village centre of Leuk or at Leuk railway station.

It is also possible to walk the «Forest Fire» (Waldbrand / Incendies de forêt) hiking route from point 1434 (on the map) in the book: Wandern, wo andere forschen / sur les sentiers valaisans de la recherche. (This book was published by the WSL). You can find more information under links (the information’s are only available in German and French).
