Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut - Neirivue was almost entirely destroyed during a violent fire which ravaged the village on July 19th, 1904. The reconstruction of the village allowed for industrial development with factories and warehouses (wood, furniture, fabric) many of which have since changed purpose.
The trail leads from the little town of Gruyère past the Maison du Gruyère and then further in the direction of the Saane valley. Then it ascends again over meadows to the village of Neirivue.
