Naturpark Pfyn-Finges - This 134 m long suspension bridge was launched as a project as part of the "UNO - year of mountains 2002" campaign. It was constructed and opened in 2005 together with the Kingdom of Bhutan.
It leads over the Illgraben into the Pfyn Forest and connects the german-speaking with the french-speaking Valais.
The suspended footbridge is 133.71 m long. Four stranded cables with a diameter of 34 mm constitute the main cable. The wooden walkway is 1 m wide. Under maximum permitted load the level of the bridge would drop about 1.3 m. As in Bhutan, the cables are anchored over drums on both sides and cemented in concrete foundations.
The abutment of the west side is 1.51m higher than that on the east side.
A simple skyline crane was previously put up over the Illgraben and served for transportation of the material and construction of the suspension bridge from east to west.
