Regionaler Naturpark Schaffhausen - The museum shows how people lived in Schaffhausen around 1700, when the French-speaking religious refugees were taken in by Schaffhausen residents.
The French-speaking religious refugees were also taken in by private individuals. But how did people live in Schaffhausen around 1700? On the first floor, the museum displays living rooms, utensils, pastry models and a portrait of the mayor Tobias Holländer, painted by the Huguenot artist Daniel Savoye. When he stayed in Schaffhausen in 1686, he painted at least eight oil paintings of distinguished citizens and women.
